Daniel Ken Holtzclaw born December 10, is a former Oklahoma City Police Department patrol officer who was convicted in December of multiple counts of rape, sexual battery, forcible oral sodomy, and other charges. Holtzclaw was convicted of eighteen counts involving eight different women. According to the police investigators, Holtzclaw abused his position as an officer by running background checks to find information that could be used to coerce victims into sex.

Newly released documents from a internal affairs investigation show how San Diego police officer Donald Moncrief was accused of sexually assaulting a female arrestee inside of his patrol car. The incident was investigated but no criminal charges were ever brought against Moncrief. The new documents were released on August 10 under a newly mandated California state law that requires law enforcement agencies to make confidential information public about internal investigations and officer discipline.

Two Chicago police officers have been relieved of police duties after being accused of sexual assault in Rogers Park late last month.
